Kali ini berbeda, sebuah buku dengan judul serupa postingan saya ini tidak membuat saya ingin membayangkan bagaimana kisah ini akan berlanjut. Saya hanya menikmati setiap alurnya tanpa adanya ekspektasi.

Saya mendapatkan buku ini ketika datang ke toko buku bekas di daerah double six seminyak, mas penjualnya yang merekomendasikan. Judulnya membuat saya tertarik untuk membeli.
Buku ini menceritakan seorang anak perempuan bernama Julia Win, yang pergi dari New York ke Kalaw (sebuah desa di pegunungan, Burma) untuk mencari Ayahnya yang tiba-tiba menghilang. Julia menemukan sebuah surat yang ditulis Ayahnya, Tin Win untuk seorang perempuan asal Burma bernama Mi Mi.

Saat di Kalaw, Julia bertemu seseorang yang mengaku mengetahui kisah Ayahnya. Sebuah cerita tentang masa lalu Ayahnya yang saat kecil mengalami kebutaan dan bagaimana Ayahnya menjalin cinta dengan seorang gadis lokal bernama Mi Mi.

Kalimat-kalimat dalam buku ini sangat manis, dengan banyaknya kutipan yang indah sekaligus membuat mata saya berkaca. Buku ini berhasil menyajikan kisah sederhana yang memberikan kesan begitu dalam. Bagaimana penantian, rasa percaya, pengorbanan tidak lantas menjadi hal yang selalu menyedihkan. Bagaimana bahasa cinta setiap orang berbeda-beda bila kita memahami dan melihat secara objektif.
